Why aren't there toasters in South America? Or our hotel at least? It would be great to have some pancakes for breakfast. Whatever - I finally got some peanut butter yesterday. The bus was late again too. But eventually we got to the highlands.
The highlands were filled with these spiny bushes that made all of us bleed, so we decided to bring death to them. Death to all mora...blackberry bushes. By the time we were done we realized that this forest was made up mostly of this horrible plant that was taking over the lives of the endemic plants. We were proud to bring death to such a pest. Though there are many more mora to bring death to - we broke our backs over a few acres (that's not a redneck comment y'all). Lunch was interesting... bologna? -mystery meat. Scramble for cookies that we didn't even finish, Lots of cheese and saltines left over, and no sharing the peanut butter- (lo siento mi amigos). Went back to work and got a serious pep talk with Dan about my personal future with lifeworks...hmmm...very interesting.
When the torturous six hours were over with, we piled into the back of a pick up, and moseyed down the hill back to the hotel. Roberto hopped out to collect some passion fruit, which supplied ammunition for a war of passion fruit rinds vs. Daniel James. Back in town we did some serious shopping... and went to a new restaurant. We also all noticed that Roberto finally decided to change his shirt. We finished the night with appreciations which were really corny (even more so than the whole shooting star idea) and broke for some cards.
