Today we took a windy bus ride up to the highlands and arrived at another school. In the yard, through the fog, we saw a bunch of young men. We were informed that they were from the military academy. We were concerned because the last time we had worked at fixing up a school it had been discouraging. Yet we started working.
Our projects included weeding the playground, painting the bleachers, painting the classrooms, and designing a mural for the very young kids' classroom. After working hard all morning we left the school with a beautiful playground clear of greenery, freshly painted bleachers and classrooms, and a simple yet completed mural for the kids. Every wall was a different theme; there was sky, sea, land, and space. We were really excited and inspired because we had finished a project. It was such a nice feeling!
We were then set free on the gorgeous island of San Cristobal to find our own lunch and everyone really got to know the town.
After lunch a group set out for the beach to snorkel. Some people sat on the sand with sea lions whilst others swam with them. On our way back we walked into the most beautiful sunset.
