Location: Road Town, Tortola
Today we woke up nice and early to sail five minutes around the corner to the Virgin Island Search And Rescue Base. Our job at the base was to dig up all the sand that was filling the channel and remove it so that their new boat wouldn't run around when they would go out and return on rescues. We worked most of the day, half of us in the water shoveling and bucketing the sand, the other half taking the buckets and dumping them. Torin ordered a lot of pizza for lunch and it was amazing!! Thank you! During one break we met up with Phil who volunteers with VISAR and he showed us videos about VISAR and answered all our questions. Then we went back to work for an hour. After that we got tow hours of free time in Road Town. Unfortunately, nothing was opened because it was a national holiday, but it was still lots of fun and we got the most amazing ice cream!! Today was a lot of fun helping VISAR and working together.
