On the 4th of July and it was time to try and see some turtles. We went on a boat ride through the canals of Tortuguero for three hours, unfortunately in the pouring rain (It is the rainy season here). After we arrived we were able to go into town to go shopping and we were able to play games with some of the local kids. Later that night we stood in the rain for nearly an hour waiting for a chance to see the turtles. It was really cold, but the lighting made it really neat. Unfortunately, we weren't able to see any turtles.
