Change of Plans

Author: Kelsey B.
Location: Anegada
After a late night of eating and dancing, we all got to sleep in until 7:00! Our plan for the day was to go play with BVI kids at their school. So we packed up all our toys and headed to shore. When we arrived at the school we went to the play ground and waited. After 10 mins, Hannah gave them a call. It turned out that there was a miscommunication so no one was coming. While Hannah worked out a new plan, everyone else started playing with all the toys we had brought for the children. We flew kites, made balloon animals and passed the Frisbees around. Everyone was laughing and having fun. An hour later, we got picked up and were brought to the children. They were at Gorda Point. It was a 20-30 minute hike, all up hill, but when we got to the top it was all worth it. The view was amazing, with a full 360 degree view of the whole island and ocean. In the end we ended up not having any time with the kids, but had a great hike instead. With free time for lunch, we were all able to call home to our families and friends to check in and catch u. It was nice to hear all their familiar voices. Our final destination of the day was Anegada. The sail was a long 2 -3 hours long with strong winds, big waves and hard work. The long day of mixed up plans and long journeys ended with a highly anticipated Mexican night dinner that everyone enjoyed. I believe not one ship mate will have trouble sleeping tonight!
