Blue Skies and Bright Stars

Today was packed full of things to do,. It was by far one of the most fun. We woke up to clear blue skies(which is very rare) and we were all ready to start the day. In the morning, we split the group after eating some delicious Chinese cereal. Half of the group went to see the babies and the rest to play with the younger kids while Leah and Beth stayed home to make sandwiches for lunch. The group that went to see the younger children had a blast. We tried to teach them the Macarena. We also had the chance to see Gou Gou (who is blind) play the piano. I can say that watching him was a real treat for all of us. Every day we are all getting more and more attached to these kids. They are so unique and they all have amazing personalities. For our afternoon activity we went to the incredible Tian An Men Square, and the Forbidden City. The Forbidden city was breathtaking. The architecture was unbelievable and we couldn't help but take pictures every two seconds. We all got treated like celebrities at Tian An Men Square! Chinese seem to find us very interesting and would ask us to take pictures with them, we would all pose with our tilted peace signs. Steph and Megan were our very talented tour guides while we were there( they were actually using the walking tour headphones) surprisingly it ended up being a very fun learning experience for all of us. After our afternoon adventure we went to Jenny Lou's, which is a supermarket. We all had fun picking out our favorite American foods:Morgan bought seven boxes of poptarts, Gabriella forgot to get her Bounce laundry detergent(apparently it keeps mosquitoes away), Ben bought some gross Durian candy that tasted like onions while Leah, Jackie, Morgan, Sam, and Beth and I bought a passion peach drink at Starbucks. For dinner we went to our usual Chinese restaurant and the food was amazing as always. Cant wait for tomorrow, Olympic stadiums here we come!
