Initiation

First off, I would like to apologize for my punctuation and spelling errors-- I guarantee there will be some. With that out of the way here it goes... We started off the day by waking up at 5 am (2 hours prior to the set time to wake up), jet lagged and confused-- are we actually in China? We were still trying to grasp the fact that we are. After breakfast, Brent came and gave us some more information on the program and its affect on China. Today we also visited the orphanage. We met the babies and toddlers. Each of our hearts went out to them; they were adorable (to say the least). It felt so good to be able to make the kids smile and laugh. Seeing as it was the first day we were only able to stay for an hour. Sixty minutes went by fast and at the end of it none of us wanted to leave when the bus pulled up. We went back to the apartment, ate macaroni and cheese, and got ready to climb the Great Wall. We arrived at the wall and started to take some pictures but then were distracted because we saw the Harlem Globetrotters! A load of us climbed to the top and after were horribly sweaty. We came back, ate dinner, and then had a forum conversation where we discussed the meaning of community service. And that draws our day to an end, very busy, we are tired and ready for bed.
